No, this isn't about the Leafs changing team colors and moving to a different city. They are 4-0 in the season so far and damn if I didn't call it earlier. Yea, dont expect this streak to last, but also don't expect them to be as bad as last 4-5 seasons were.
This is about the wonderful temperate climate that we are fortunate to live in. There's this neat event that happens, when, at the first signs of frost, the leaves in some of the trees begin to shut down their veins that carry water and fluids into and out of the leaf. As a result the photosynthesis is gradully faded out and the chlorophyll (which gives them their green color) is being phased out, revealing the true color of the leaf. Now what that exact color is depends on a lot of factors such as the temperatures in the previous summer, the length of the days/nights, weather and precipitation, the timing of the first autum frost, etc. etc.
Well enough of the lecture, regardless if you understand the process or not, you should experience it, as not everyone in the world is fortunate enough to have this pallete on display. And no, you dont need to head out to some touristy place or shell out money for a pretentious fall foliage tour. Just get out of the current city you live in (ie. Toronto) and drive somewhere where there's a green patch on google maps. It shouldn't take you more than 1-2hrs to find a good one. Guaranteed!
See, this isn't so hard.
